What is a Liquidation Price?
When you trade crypto futures with leverage, you are borrowing funds from the exchange to increase your position size. If the market moves against you and your initial margin is no longer enough to cover the unrealized losses, the exchange will automatically close your position. The price at which this happens is the liquidation price.
How to Avoid Liquidation
Always use Stop-Loss orders to exit a bad trade before it reaches the liquidation price. Additionally, using lower leverage and keeping a higher margin balance will push the liquidation price further away from your entry point.
